  • New ENL Teacher in Need of Curriculum Supports

    With these books, students will learn and reinforce their phonics, sequencing, comprehension, and English Language skills. The books are intended to drive the instruction within the classroom and then help students practice or demonstrate knowledge of the skills taught.

    Students enjoy doing these hands-on activities. Through cutting, sorting, and gluing students can practice and demonstrate knowledge in a more interactive way. The hot dot books also makes learning seem like a game for students. These are great for independent practice while I take small groups of students that need extra support. The hot dot books and pens provide immediate feedback to students where they got a question right or wrong. So students not only know if they are correct but if they are incorrect, they have the opportunity to try and practice again.

    These resources will be a tremendous help in my classroom. I cannot express my gratitude enough! Thank you so much!”

  • English Language Resources for New ENL Teacher

    These resources have been a tremendous assets to our learning experience in our classroom. These resources not only has enabled me to create interactive lessons and curriculum, but it has also provided fun experiences for students to learn, practice, and show their knowledge.

    Thanks to the teacher pay teacher gift card, I will be able to purchase some slides that I use to supplement the interactive part of my lesson. The students have loved the yoga activity to identify the correct beginning sounds of words. Their demonstration of learning in this way, makes them feel as if they're playing game, rather them knowing that I am assessing their knowledge. I also purchased additional slides to also help with practicing letter sounds that have been taught. Again, the students feel as if they are playing a game, but in reality, I'm checking in to what they have learned during the lesson, and who needs extra assistance for the independent activity and going forward.

    The puzzles I have currently been using as an extended activity. For students who finish early, they can use the letter puzzles to review all letter sounds that have been taught previously. So students are engaged in an independent hands on activity.

    The students have really loved doing these activities and are excited when presented with a game or activity that we had previously done with a different letter sound. I really love seeing that students are already engaged prior to even starting a lesson or activity. I plan to continue using these resources going forward for every letter of the alphabet. There are other resources that are also included in this package that I put on my wish list for curriculum later in the year. I am really looking forward to continuing to use all these resources throughout the year, and for further years to come. I can't begin to express my gratitude for your generous contribution.”

  • Language Resources for English Language Learners

    Funded Feb 20, 2020

    Thank you so much for making this project possible for my 3rd grade English Language Learners. We received our project materials towards the end of February. We were able to use some of the resources that arrived on time. We were able to use the ELL reading and writing kits. The students were so happy to see something new and interactive. They enjoyed working in partnerships to complete activities.

    The shipment of headphones to use for translation came right before school closures due to COVID-19. I opened and set them up with the iPads. The students were very intrigued on how we would be using these new "cool" headphones. Sadly, we were unable to use them since they did not come in time. They were ecstatic to know that so many people supported them and helped fund our project.

    We had so many exciting ideas that we wanted to try out! I cannot wait to see a new group of students get excited about the ELL reading and writing kits. I will continue to explore additional programs that my students can utilize the headphones for the following school year. Thank you for your contribution to help ELL students for years to come!”

There are many occasions when my students have to go to other classrooms to borrow books on their level because I don’t have enough books on every level. There are many books that are also outdated or falling apart. I would like to revamp my library with new and current books to keep my students interested. I want to get them excited about reading. I want to provide every opportunity for my students to become better readers.

About my class
