The possibilities for a light table can be endless for playing and learning! My students in my classroom can be drawn to the gentle glow of the light and can benefit from science exploration and discovery. We can benefit from literacy, math, and writing skills in fun playful ways. Our science area lacks in learning materials, and by having a light table it can help with opportunities for many different learning experiences not only in science but in everything from open-ended play experiences to arts and crafts, to teaching academic concepts, and having the additional light table accessories to go along. Also by having flexible seating for my special needs children, and in addition a self-calming tent, it will help them cope with their needs when they feel overwhelmed. Having a special calming area for my Autism, ADD, ADHD children can help eliminate visual stimuli and allows them to regulate their senses without distractions, which allows them to relax and regulate.
