I plan to create picture exchange communication tools in the classroom to assist students communicate their wants and needs on a communication board. I plan to use board maker to create visuals representing various task, objects, etc. I am requesting a colored printer to help aid student in identifying objects, make choices, and help them to communicate their needs. I hope that by giving students greater access to communication then they will be better able to learn from the curriculum, actively participate in classroom activities, and be engaged. Moreover, I think that the picture exchange will help students better understand the lesson, meet their learning objectives and IEP goals.
