My 6th grade students need exposure to non-fiction text that is interesting and relevant to them. Scholastic News will help me provide them with opportunities to increase their reading skills with stories related to the world around them. One of the ways I plan to use Scholastic News in my classroom is to have Non-Fiction Fridays. We will read interesting non-fiction text, and follow with accountable talk discussions to take it to the next level! This will help expose all students to engaging text and conversations about that text. Please help me create a culture of literacy in my classroom!
