We Cannot Mask Our Excitement!
Funded Feb 18, 2022Thank you so much for your support of this Donors Choose campaign! Your donation supported our ability to continue learning and growing safely in school by providing the highest quality masks for all students. It allowed us to continue the work that is deeply grounded in our mission: To create an empowering space for Black, Indigenous, and all minoritized children, families, and communities grounded in antiracist values and fostering activism and lifelong learning.
This pandemic has been quite a journey, and knowing that we could make school a safe place for our community made a huge difference.”
With gratitude,

This classroom project was brought to life by Black History Month Partners and 12 other donors.Creating an Antiracist School
Funded Jul 7, 2020I cannot thank you enough for your incredible generosity. The library of antiracist literature that you helped to fund for our students has served as the backbone of our antiracist work this year.
To begin the year, all students in grades TK-5 created Identity Projects. Grounded in Teaching Tolerance's Social Justice Standards, we used the amazing literature acquired through this Donors Choose project to learn about ourselves and others and to create Identity Projects. Those projects were then shared with all of our families at a virtual Student Success Showcase. The pictures you see were shared during those Showcases, as teachers acquainted families with the antiracist texts that they had been exploring.
Over the past few months, we have continued to ground our work in the antiracist literature we received, restructuring our ELA curriculum to include these texts and thus highlight the beauty and brilliance of Black and Brown individuals and communities. Additionally, during every weekly, virtual Morning Meetings with our TK-2 students and with our 3-5 students, we read aloud and discuss one of the books from the campaign.
Thank you again for making this possible for our amazing students! We are so, so grateful!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Kislinger
