My middle school students need to experience science in order to learn. The materials in this project would give them opportunities to see science in action. When studying convection and heat, it was difficult for students to visualize the movement of currents in water. The materials requested will allow students to see first hand this phenomena. Students are highly engaged when doing hands-on activity and express that it helps their understanding of difficult concepts. The states of matter materials will allow my students to explore matter in a meaningful and hands on way that will make it more meaningful and increase their knowledge of the different phases of matter.
