This new rug will be a fantastic addition to my classroom. It is fun, bright, and the students will actually want to sit on it! I am trying to create a new and inviting "crafting" area. The "crafting" area is what we call our whole group learning time. I would like to replace the old worn out, dingy carpet that I have currently in my classroom. This rug is falling apart and it never looks like it gets clean. My students often complain that it is so dirty looking , so I would like to freshen up the classroom with a new and inviting rug. We gather on this rug at the change of each subject. We sit with our talk partners, group members, or independently in this area. Often times, students will use technology or read independently on this rug. My students are active learners! The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. Second graders love using these boards along with their whiteboard markers. It allows each one of my students to be engaged. They are all participating and remaining focused. Whiteboards are also a good way for me to check in with who has the concept and who needs extra help! Students will often ask to bring these whiteboards home so they can practice their Math at home with their family members!
