Currently, students are using vinyl aprons. While they do protect the students' clothes from water and weak chemicals, they are prone to tearing near the ties. One apron will be tied and untied at least six times in a day, and these tears lead to an improper fit. This improper fit leaves students at risk for unnecessary chemical exposure. The rubber laboratory apron is meant to stand up to years of lab use. An investment in these will not only benefit this year's students but many more students who are destined to pass through my room on their way to college.
