  • Exploring and Investigating Balls

    Funded Dec 7, 2023

The new ball unit was an exciting study for the students. With the resources from this project, the students were able to manipulate different balls and compare them. We investigated how balls move by rolling and bouncing them. We also investigated friction and force by using ramps and different balls of size, weight and material. The materials helped the students stay engaged and excited about the topics.

With the new books from this project, the students were able to read how different types of balls are used. They learned about different types of balls and how they were used, many of which they had never been exposed to before.

We are grateful for all these resources for the ball unit and I am eager to use them again next year!”

  • Fun With Math

    Funded Feb 3, 2023

Thank you for your generous donations! You have helped provide valuable math activities for our classroom. The students were so eager to open the new materials and explore them.

The materials helped my students learn many important math skills. While playing with the new activities, they practiced counting and producing, numeral recognition and number order, shape identification and shape sorting. All of these skills are an important foundation to Kindergarten. Not only did they get to practice these skills, but they had fun doing it. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness and generosity. It means the word to me and my students.”

  • Diverse Classroom Library

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. Having these new books in our classroom has made a big impact on my students and their learning.

My students have been able to learn many important topics including kindness, feelings and diversity. As a class we read aloud these new books and discuss these important topics. The students also have opportunities to browse through the books and tell stories based on the pictures they see. The students enjoy seeing themselves and their diverse cultures represented in the books we read.

Your donation will continue to have a big impact on my current students and also my future students to come.”

  • Building Our Classroom Library

    Funded Apr 14, 2021

We are so grateful for your generous donations. With your help, we were able to build our classroom library. We now have enough books for all students to have a variety of reading material.

Not only do we have enough books, but we now have a culturally responsive library. Our books now show different types of people from various cultures. My students are now able to see themselves in the books that they read in the classroom. As they browse through the pictures in the books, they are able to see different children from all over the world.

These books are a great resource to me as a teacher. I am able to successfully teach these students about diversity and acceptance through the use of these new books. Without your contribution, this would not be possible. Again, we thank you for your kindness and generosity.”

  • Successfully Learning at Home

    Funded Dec 29, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Learning at home can be difficult when children do not have the necessary supplies. With your help, my students received essential materials to complete remote learning activities and assignments. Pattern block shapes, dice and cubes helped make many math activities hands-on and exciting. My students used the pencils, paper and crayons to complete daily writing assignments. All of the materials were extremely helpful to my early learners. My students were thrilled when they saw a bag full of materials to set up their own classroom at home. We are so grateful to you and cannot thank you enough.”

  • Culturally Diverse Books

    Funded Nov 23, 2020

We are so appreciative of your generous donation. We were able to add so many new books to our classroom library. These books show diversity in characters and authors and give the students a chance to see themselves represented in books.

The books are used to help teach these early learners essential social emotional skills. Both remote learning students and in person students are able to enjoy these books as we use them in daily read-alouds. In person students have their own book basket which now includes multiple multicultural books. Again, thank you so much for your donation. It truly impacts the lives of so many little learners.”

  • Letters to Build Words

    Funded Aug 13, 2020

We are very grateful for your generous donation. These magnetic letters are being used to help students learn at home during this pandemic. My students were very excited to receive their own set of uppercase and lowercase letters. They immediately wanted to use them. My students use the letters to help them learn to spell their names on a daily basis. They are also using the letters to build the alphabet and learn the letter names. These letters will also be a great resource later in the year as my students learn to spell words.

We can not thank you enough for your contribution to our students. Your donation has made a great impact on their learning, especially during this difficult time.”

  • Books! Books! Books!

    Funded Dec 2, 2019

The students were thrilled to see the new boxes of books arrive in our classroom. Their excitement grew as they browsed through the various titles. They began shouting out familiar books and characters as they searched through the books. The children were eager to look through the various books and did not stop asking teachers to read to them.

Your generous donations have made a big impact on my students. We were able to use many of the feelings books to help teach the students about the different emotions they have. The students were able to relate to many of the characters in the stories. We are continuously using these books when big feelings arise in our class and students are unsure about how to regulate them.

The possibilities are endless with what we can do with these books. We look forward to using them in our daily lessons.”

My students come to school excited and eager to learn. Many of them do not have a strong literary background and have not had stories read to them before. They are excited to meet new characters and hear different types of stories throughout the year. Each day, we read at least one new book together. Books help the students learn social emotional skills such as how to share, identifying feelings and what to do when they feel a certain way. My students also learn the alphabet and many math skills through reading specific books. They also enjoy learning about animals, and different places and people around the world in books. A variety of book genres in the classroom helps develop crucial literary skills and sets the students up for success in the future. Not only does it help students academically, but they also develop a love for books and characters. I would love to be able to give my students the best possible literacy experience.
