  • Indoor Rainy Day Florida Recesses

    Funded Aug 31, 2022

Thank you all so much for your donations. Because of your generosity, my students have been able to truly enjoy indoor recess AND Fun Friday.

The play-doh has been an absolute hit with my students and we almost always have to play rock-paper-scissors to see who gets to play Life because it is so popular! The pillows have been an added bonus to our daily schedule. Since we now have enough comfy pillows for everyone, during whole group and independent activities, my kiddos can sit all around the classroom comfortably.

This has been such a help to us for daily classroom use, not just indoor recess days. I am truly thankful for each and every one of your donations to my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cooper

  • Wizards Classroom

    Funded May 5, 2020

My Harry Potter themed classroom was missing some of those truly Harry Potter feeling elements. Now, with your help, my kiddos have a magical experience every time they enter the classroom. From the hanging candles to the library bookcase tapestry, everything gives our classroom a more Hogwarts feel. The hanging candles, LED tiered candles, and the extra string lights allow me to turnoff our harsh florescent lighting and give my students a calmer setting in the classroom. The extra fluffy circle chair, little bookshelf, and the tapestry tie my entire reading area together and provides a cozy place for my kiddos to grow in their reading.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cooper

  • Wizarding Classroom Essentials

    Funded May 5, 2020

This project allowed me to get some much needed supplies for my classroom. My students needed to come back to a fresh and clean classroom and the disinfectant spray and hand sanitizer really helped keep everyone nice and clean. We also were able to add some organization essentials, like the blue banker box. This keeps all my kiddos work nice, neat, and orderly. Now everything has a place! Along with these essentials, we also were able to add a cozy rug to our reading area. In such a crazy time, now my kiddos have a comfortable and safe place to feel almost back to normal. Thank you all so very much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cooper

  • Getting Comfy in the Classroom

    Funded Jan 17, 2020

First and foremost, thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom! My students and I are so thankful for all of you. The lamps and string lights in the classroom have allowed me to turn off the overhead fluorescent lights and has given my students a more calming atmosphere in which to do their work. The day I set up all the lights, my students told me the classroom looked like Hogwarts now and with my Harry Potter themed room that was perfect!

My students were most excited about the balance ball chairs at their center stations. They absolutely love sitting on them and working independently at their station. These type of chairs allow my students to be active and move around without disrupting others while still getting their work done.

I am so grateful for every single donation. The looks on my students' faces when everything was opened and set up was something I'll never forget.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cooper

  • Supplies to Inspire Great Thinkers

    Funded Aug 24, 2019

Thank you, again, for all of your generous donations! You would have though it was Christmas Day in my classroom when my students saw all the boxes we received. I never thought a simple pack of Sharpies would excite 8 and 9 year olds, but boy was I wrong! We opened each box together and I had them guess what they thought was inside each box - they were almost always correct with their guesswork!

My kids now have beautifully colored and laminated centers that they can use, move around, and manipulate during their reading block that they did not previously have. They are also able to actually write on the white board and have multiple examples going at one time - which has been greatly beneficial during our math block.

My kids cannot wait for their new center stations now that they can actually interact with the manipulatives and I'm so excited to see their love for learning grow and grow!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cooper

As a first year teacher I look into my empty classroom and see so much potential. I have quite a bit of empty wall space, very few resources, and no whiteboard or chalkboard for the kids to show their knowledge. The lack of necessities doesn't upset me because I have the most important resource, my students. However, with your help, and these items I would have the opportunity to provide my kiddos with many options to create a hands-on learning environment. "Tell me and I forget; teach me and I remember; involve me and I will learn."~Benjamin Franklin Our classroom is an old computer lab. It was not created as an active learning space. We have one whiteboard that is too high for the kids to reach, and it is located in an awkward space. With a new, portable whiteboard the kids would have the opportunity to show what they have learned, engage in contests, and model solutions. I cannot begin to tell you how desperately needed the board is. In addition to the board I have requested dry erase markers so that we will always be ready to "show what we know". I am also requesting items necessary to create stations, preserve their work, and to ensure that displays are long lasting. A thermal laminator should be issued to every teacher. We spend so much time creating fun learning activities and printing them on cardstock and paper, but if they are not laminated they do not last a week if they are handled by the kids. Isn't that the point of creating these activities? With your help and the laminator, pouches, cardstock and a pencil sharpener we will be able to create and preserve our learning for many years to come.
