A Fresh Start to a New Year!
Funded Nov 30, 2022Thank you very much for your donations towards the resources in my classroom. When my class found out that we received more pencils, erasers, and a new dry erase board, they were very excited. Each item is used every single day.
Now every student knows that they can come into the classroom and not worry if they have a pencil and eraser. I also have plenty, so I can always give them one. Students are also now able to write on a dry erase board to show their work (especially during math). My students get very excited when they can come up to the board and write down their answers on the board and show the class. The Teachers pay Teachers gift card is also very helpful. I am able to purchase resources for my students that are on grade level, age and ability appropriate.
Thank you so much again. My class and I really appreciate it!”

Funded Oct 17, 2022Thank you for your generous donations for the non-fiction weather books. My students were so happy to be able to read and do their research while holding an actual book and not just from online books. While researching, students were able to put post-its into their books to take notes and collaborate with their groups.
Students who are beginner English Language Learner students were able to join in the research, by using books that are written in their native languages. All of this research led to students being able to have great conversations and collaborate with one another.
These new books taught us to appreciate actual books and learn more about different weather situations. Year after year, students will be able to use these books to do their research.
Thank you again!”

Connected! Keeping Students Engaged During Virtual Learning!
Funded Sep 9, 2020Thank you for the new amazing technology additions to my remote classroom. My students are at ease when I am using the new pieces of technology. All of my students are hybrid. This means that they are coming into school and are remote on their off days. I am working with three different classroom teachers, which means that I have a lot of students online with my on any given day.
I have over 50 students on my remote classroom and it gets very difficult to see them all when I share my screen on Zoom. While using my second monitor, I am able to share my screen and see my students at the same time. I can show them everything that I want to and they can see everything so easily.
Using the Apple Pencil on my I-Pad is just like having a whiteboard that I can explain and write everything on. I am able to share my I-Pad screen on my monitor, which allows my students to see everything that I need to show them while writing with the Pencil. The Apple Pencil is especially helpful during our math periods, when I am able to write on a whiteboard, using the APP, which allows me to use different colors.
Thank you again. Your generosity and support mean so much to me.”

Future Readers and Leaders
Funded Dec 6, 2019Thank you for donating to my future readers and leaders. When the packages arrived the students were very eager and excited to find out what was in them. As I unpacked the pillows, my students were at first very confused as to why there were pillows in the classroom. I explained that they would be used as a comfortable spot during reading time and in no time at all they made themselves comfortable and started reading. They are now eager to read and by using the pillows, they are building their reading stamina during our quiet reading time.
Since I have such fond memories of receiving similar weekly readers, I was excited for my students to receive The Scholastic Let's Find Out magazines. They have been very helpful explaining Groundhog's Day, Valentine's Day, and President's Day. We were also able to discuss and watch the videos on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The magazines make topics relatable to Kindergarten students on a developmentally appropriate level. The students also love to sit and read their magazines by themselves. They feel important and confident while looking through them. The videos that relate to the magazine articles inspire discussion and curiosity. We have had many lively conversations from both the magazines and the videos.
Your generosity towards my classroom and students is most appreciated. Please know you have contributed to my goal of building lifelong readers and learners.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Gladstone
