Students need certain materials in a classroom, no matter the subject, to ensure that they are successful. Being that my class is held on the stage of our campus, and my school does not have the funds to purchase the items needed for my students to be successful, I am asking that donors open their heart and provide my students with a whiteboard, ballet barres, and yoga mats. In my classroom, students have the ability to learn in more ways than one may it be physically, socially, or mentally. In our dance class, the use of the whiteboard will allow students who are visual learners the chance to be successful while learning the days lesson and being able to refer back to important details. The use of the ballet barre will allow my students to effectively execute technique during the ballet unit, which is majority of the semester, and be given experiences outside of their norm. The use of yoga mats allows the students to not only be able to effectively stretch daily but also be comfortable when exercising and doing yoga. In giving my students these materials, they are given the opportunity to thrive and be successful. Dance class takes them away from their trials and tribulations and places them in a world where they all have the same opportunities and can enjoy being children. Help us make this dance class feel like home!
