Many of my students have sensory needs and are learning to self-regulate when they feel sad, angry, or frustrated. Sensory items such as play-dough help my students calm down and attend to academic tasks. My project will help provide my students with different items they can explore while working on self-calming strategies. When a child is upset, it is hard for them to participate in classroom activities. My goal is to create a classroom where my students have the sensory items they need to help them feel happy, calm, and motivated.
