When Scholars Have the Tools They Need, They Can SOAR!
Funded Feb 9, 2022I cannot express enough, how grateful I am for your thoughtfulness and generosity. When my students received the various books needed for our library, they wanted to start reading right away.
As soon as I was, I started to incorporate some of the social emotional texts. This was most needed because some of my students needed support with developing skills of self awareness, how to self regulate and self care. Which aided them when they were in challenging social situations, such as peer pressure, mental health, as well as provided calming strategies to help regulate their emotions just to name a few. Additionally, because of my population of students it is very important to me to have books that represented them. They were able to see themselves in texts, stories. This was fulfilling to witness.
Reading is essential in our classroom. It is the driving force in our learning. Everyday, the students wanted to read their books. They would partner read or read independently. Either way, the students couldn't wait until to speak about the books that they were engaging in.
With you, our library would not have been possible. Without you, my students would not have the materials needed to be successful in reading. The impact of your generosity is unmeasurable. For all that you have done for us, I thank you, thank you, thank you .”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Reid-Graham

Funded Oct 24, 2019With much appreciation and gratitude, I submit this impact letter to you for your willingness and support towards "Less Clutter".
For every minute spent in organizing, an hour is earned-Benjamin Franklin
When I think about this quote, I think about my students and the importance of how time is spent in the classroom. I also think about the importance of having the tools needed be successful not only academically but socially as well.
Many think of organization skills as the ability to keep things in order. But we also use organization skills to keep our thoughts in order so that we can retrieve information and use it effectively. Having such skills is key to begin successful. My students comes from all educational backgrounds. Many of my students struggle academically and because of this, being able to organize is a challenge for them.
Your donation to our mission less clutter helps with this challenge. My students now understand the importance of keeping their learning area free of clutter. So much so that they help one another when one needs help organizing their desk or work folders.
The impact of having a system to where my students are able to take ownership to the point where they are conscious of their needs to be organize, I think is the greatest impact of all.
Because of your generosity, my students have earned another hour. Thank you”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Reid-Graham

Funded Oct 24, 2019It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to give, towards "An Area for Learning".
"OMG! Mrs.Graham! Is this for us? I cannot believe it! It is so beautiful. I just love it!" said Valeria B. to me as she walked in the classroom from morning line up. She turned around to her classmates and said, "Guys we just have to keep this clean. I don't even want to step on it, it's just beautiful."
I never knew something such as a change in an area where my students do most of their learning, can have an impact on their learning. I call it the "magic" carpet.
Ever since I laid our "magic" carpet down in our morning meeting area, my students have been more willing to take academic risks. They have been supportive and encouraging to their peers. However, the one that I am most grateful for is that my non-verbal student has been more vocal and social than she has ever been. Who knew that something that many may consider a materialistic object could have such a major impact on my students?
Because of your support, my students are not focusing on the individual next to them because someone is in their "personal bubble". Because of your generosity, my students are more alert and engaged in their learning. Because of your willingness to give, my students are more willing to take chances in their learning and being supportive to their peers.
The impact from the "magic carpet" is far greater than you can imagine. We are still in awe of getting something so beautiful better yet something so magical.
From the bottom of our hearts- Thank you for everything,”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Reid-Graham
