As I’ve said, my students deserve the best. Only 17% of students are reading on grade level. Having audio books and reading along gives extra support for the children who need it. The books will encourage book awareness and how to read. Several of the books listed, we might use as class books. The audio books allow students who would struggle independently to keep up with the rest of the class but also shows students what the words sound like. Having audio books will help close the reading gap my students have and will help them become independent in their own work.
