The speaker system will allow my students to deepen knowledge through educational video clips and podcasts regarding the topics covered in class. The STEM materials (pipe cleaners, clothespins, coffee filters, modeling clay, disposable cups, masking tape, drinking straws, and popsicle sticks) will make project-based learning possible and encourage my students to use trial-and-error methods to solve problems. The STEM stations and activities will allow students to collaborate and generate ideas with their peers, build upon pre-existing knowledge, and apply creative applications to improve real-life situations. The lessons planned with the STEM materials will allow my students to gather knowledge from a tactile perspective. Through the use of these resources, they will explore the scientific concepts of density, volume, mass, weight, gravity, inertia, and speed. Students will receive opportunities to build apparatuses, apply scientific concepts to improve designs, and make adjustments to their ideas as needed. The Expo markers will be used to highlight important notes and create interactive diagrams on the dry erase board. The command hooks will be used to organize hall passes on the wall and reduce the amount of class time spent sending students to the library, office, counseling office, or restroom. The sticky tack will be used to display educational posters and student work samples in the classroom.
