Our school is planning to have an Emergency Preparedness Fair for the students at our middle school and for our community too. I have requested resources that will help my students educate others on emergency preparedness and possibly save lives.
The donated goods will be the essential tools to help my students educate others on emergency preparedness and possibly save lives.
I have requested hard hats and emergency vests. These resources will help everyone attending our Emergency Preparedness Fair that my students are the educators of this event. In fact, I will be using the labels requested to label students' hard hats and emergency vest with the words: Master of Disaster Specialist. Given this role, my students will strive to be as professional as they can be in educating their peers and community members.
I have also requested markers, posters, and tape to assist my students in creating posters to share their researched knowledge of emergency preparedness topics. My students need the best art supplies because their informative posters may be the most important posters they will ever make because they can save lives.
The plastic bags will be used so families can carry brochures that we will distribute from the American Red Cross and FEMA on Emergency Preparedness. The Swiss Safe 5-in-1 Fire Starter will be shared during the Fair as a sample of an important item to include in an emergency kit. For my students, this event is not just an assignment for an academic grade. It is an assignment to help save lives and my students need the best resources to fulfill this task successfully.
