The vast majority of my students are English Learners who will be the first student in their family to go to college. Some students in my classes struggle understanding the meanings of words in the context of more complex readings. By having an iPad in class students will annotate the text on the projector so their peers can follow along on their hard copy. It will allow students to break down the text on the projector without leaving their seat. The iPad will also be used to real time translate complex texts into Spanish for the students still transitioning into learning English to check their understanding of the text in their native language. I will use the iPad to take notes during class to post on Google Classroom so students can refer back to their material at any time and compare their work to my notes.
