  • Rolling With Math

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom. My students have been enjoying all the new math games they received. Currently, we have played two games. In my class, I am working on teaching them life skills such as counting money and telling time. I am so thrilled that they can continue learning about money with the new games. My students ask me every day if we can play one of the new games we have received.

My next step is to try the other games out and see how my students react to them. I plan on playing one of these games at least once a week to build my students' knowledge in addition, subtraction, money, and time. Thank you so much for your donation, it is greatly appreciated.”

  • Learning Through Hands-On

    Funded Feb 26, 2024

Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom. My students and I were very excited to open the package of fun hands-on activities. These activities have added so much fun during our small group intervention time. My students love getting to work with the letter tiles and manipulating them to make words. They love the cards with pictures that accompany the letter tiles.

I really enjoy getting to see my students spell out words. Most of all, I love seeing that my students want to learn. These activities make learning seem as a fun activity or game. They don't realize they are learning. Thank you so much for your donation and contribution to my classroom.”

  • Fun with Secret Stories!

    Funded Feb 15, 2024

Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom. My students and myself love using Secret Stories. This resources has helped me teach vowels, diagraphs, blends, etc. The stories are fun and easy to remember. My students love the graphics for each sound. I have really enjoyed seeing my students being able to decode words. As well as my students being able to identify those "heart" words that cannot be decoded, and knowing what sounds they should be blending together. I have struggled with teaching my students how to read "heart" words, and this program has taught me so much. I am very grateful that I was able to get my hands on this amazing program.”

  • Holiday Book Fun

    Funded Jan 21, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my students and classroom. My students are enjoying all the new books you have supplied them with. Even though some of the books are from past holidays, they cannot stop wanting to read them. Every day they come to class asking if they can read one of the turkey books. I have seen such a big growth in my students' willingness to read. With amazing pictures and interesting plots, my students are highly engaged in the stories. Many of these stories are also AR books, which allows them to take quizzes on the books, thus allowing them to reach their reading goal. Thank you so much for giving these amazing materials to my students.”

  • More Books Please

    Funded Jan 16, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students and I are having the best time reading all the different books. They mostly want to read Home Alone 2 because they love Christmas and the movie. Every day they come into class wanting to read one of the new books. We take the time to read and discuss the similarities between the movies. I have noticed that many of my students who did not like to read are now more invested in reading because the books are engaging. The pictures in the books are very detailed and engaging. I love that my students now come to class wanting to read. Thank you so much for allowing my students to have new books in their hands.”

  • Enhancing Proficient Readers

    Funded Dec 4, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. My students are loving all the new items that we got. Currently, I am using UFLI in my classroom to help my students learn phonemic awareness. This program showed great improvement in the 1st-grade classroom, and now it will show great improvement for my special education students. We use it every morning and it has improved my students' knowledge of sounds. We segment and blend, do visual and auditory drills, word work, new concepts, irregular words, and connecting text.

I am so grateful that I can use a wonderful program that has been showing improvement in my students. For the past 3 weeks, I have been working on short vowels. This upcoming week, I will be taking it to the next level and begin working on digraphs. With the help of Elkonin Boxes from the Orton Gillingham books, I am able to use both resources during the same lesson. I feel that not only are my students growing, but I am as well as an educator. I am adding more resources and techniques to my teacher box.”

  • The Best Seats in the House

    Funded Sep 24, 2023

Thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom. My students were very excited to receive their seat organizers. In the past, I bought some from Dollar Tree but they would rip easily. My students would get very sad and wanted a new one. Now, they have strong seat organizers that will not rip. They were thrilled to see that their name could be put on them and that they would not rip. My students were excited to be able to pick a color of their liking. Their area is much more organized and less messy. Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom.”

  • When In Doubt, Go To The Library

    Funded Sep 11, 2023

My students and I are loving our new classroom library. My students love how easy it is to find a book from the shelves. They were amazed at how beautiful and organized our classroom library looks. I can now display holiday and seasonal books to highlight what books we will be reading for the month. This also got my students' attention to want to read more books. They are eager to read books to attain their AR reading goals. We are so thrilled to have a new classroom library. Thank you so much for helping our classroom grow and give my students the appropriate classroom library they deserve. My next project is to get new holiday and seasonal books to continue the love of reading in my classroom.”

  • Bringing Fun to Learning

    Funded Apr 10, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. My students have been having so much fun with the new materials you have provided for us. They absolutely love using microphones during learning time. We use them when someone wants to answer a question or during SEL time. They want to do show-and-tells and use the microphone to pretend they are on TV. My students also loved the laser pointer. When we play games on the SmartBoard, they like to use the pointer to show the class their answer.

My students were very excited to receive new colored pencils of different shades of skin color. They told me 'Now I can color myself the correct color.' These colors have brought more color into our student work. Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom.”

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students are to help them be successful in the general education classroom. Many of my students fell in love with Elephant & Piggie books. I want to continue this love of reading by having the complete set available for them. I will incorporate the books during virtual learning by providing read alouds during small groups. My students love being hands-on. With the math manipulatives, my students will be able to manipulate math problems. I love providing math "games" to my students. Monkey math is a great way to show my students how one side of a problem has to equal the other side of the problem. Multiplication Dominos is also a fun way for student learning and engagement. Many of my students struggle with spacing between words. The Spaceman Kit will help my students with word spacing while keeping it fun. Many of these manipulatives will be sent home during virtual learning. My students love when I get creative. I love to create my own manipulatives and games. I spend hours creating and cutting games/materials that I know will help my students be successful. I like laminating all of my materials because I can use them over and over without them ripping or getting destroyed. I want to continue providing my students with these materials that can be used year after year. With limited lamination at my school, having a laminator will allow me to continue doing what I love to do.
