These books will provide a more culturally diverse selection for students to choose from within their daily reading time in my class. The idea behind this whole project is for my students to expand and enhance their learning experience beyond my classroom. I want these books and this project to encourage my students to become lifelong readers and to find their passion for opening up a good book. The books that I chose are not your typical classics. Instead, I want to expand their idea of literature. I want my students to get so hooked into a book or an author or a topic that interests them and realize the power behind words.
