  • Listen and Learn!

    I would like to share with you how much I appreciate your generous donations to my project "Listen and Learn" the headphones allowed my students the ability to listen to difficult and challenging primary source documents. By having challenging documents read to them it gave a sense of autonomy and control to their learning.

    In addition having these headphones created a sense of focus that my students did not have before. By having the teacher or instructor speak directly it increased their level of focus and concentration.

    My students are deeply grateful for the ability to have tools to increase their ability to learn.”

    Thank you so much for your generous donations. My children were excited to receive their Chromebook and printer. They began using it right away. Though they have had DOE devices they don't work and as quickly as the items they received.

    Each of them had an opportunity to work on their project on the new Chromebook. it was working then the one issued by the DOE. They asked if we could all work together on our next Donorschoose project so that they can each get one. They are all coming up with ideas.”

Technology is the key to allowing my students to open the world to them. This equipment will be used as a means of accessing information and knowledge of other cultures as well as their own by creating independence and self-reliance. Offering them access to these tools will increase their thirst for inquiry and be reinforced with the answers that they are seeking. Providing my students with technological access to the answers and the independence to do so immediately reinforces learning and their self-confidence. My students have diverse backgrounds and present with a wide range of learning delays. By creating this learning and research kiosk within my classroom in which students can access and create research projects to share with our class community builds and promotes learning as well as self-esteem. Help my children to be independent and self-reliant in their own learning. These tools are not extra but totally necessary.
