  • Self Regulation Space

    Funded Apr 5, 2023

Our students absolutely love the materials we've received for our self regulation station. The pins to make pictures on is so calming to the students, along with the water and sand pictures. Some students stare at the pictures when they are upset. They flip them and know that they can watch it 2x then they are ready to work again.

The stress balls have really helped as well. Students will ask for them and the resistance they need while working. When they are stressed about the work they squeeze them to let out their frustrations.

The trampolines are amazing! The students will ask to use them. They set the timer and bounce out any issues they may be having. You have truly helped with improving their mental health in school!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jones

  • Students with Disabilities Need Your Help!!!!!

    Funded Dec 2, 2010

Thank you for the wonderful Netbook laptop that you helped us purchase with your generous donation. My students were so excited when it arrived at the school. Just by having this important tool in our classroom, Science homework completion has gone up. The students ask to type their monthly science projects all the time now so they can present them to their class mates. They also enjoy working on the approved math and reading websites provided by the district. We have had more participation in math and reading class since the students started refining their skills on the computer.

My students struggle everyday to keep up with their class work and homework. They have lacked motivation in the past to complete these assignments. The Netbook has given them the motivation to complete these assignments and therefore the improvement has reflected in their grades. Again, thank you so much for this wonderful gift. I thank you and my students thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jones

My students are 4th and 5th graders who are in an inclusion setting at a public school with varying disabilities ranging from Autism to Specific Learning Disabilities to Mental Retardation. They are students who attend school on a regular basis and give 110% everyday to learn material that comes naturally to most of their peers. During the school day, they are confident when they receive support from the learning support staff. When they get home, it is another story. Most of these students are visual and auditory learners that count on modifications to get through their school day successfully. They need extra help when they get home to complete their work and many do not receive the help that they need at that time due to working parents or a lack of educational experience in the home. Many times homework is incomplete, lost, or simply not turned in. The students lose confidence when this occurs and it can be difficult to get them back to where they were the day before.
