Think about how you sit when you’re reading you’re favorite book. Do you want to be sitting perfectly upright in a plastic chair or would you prefer to get comfortable? This year, I’m hoping to offer my students the opportunity to get comfortable! Many people forget about middle schoolers when discussing flexible seating. This year, my class will follow the blended model which allows the students to take control of their learning. I believe that if I am trusting my students to control their own learning, I should also be able to trust my students with flexible seating. By providing camp chairs, stools, lap desks, and clipboards, my students will be able to find a comfortable place to explore the literature they are diving into.
