Seymore's Stretching Kinders
Funded Dec 25, 2021Our elementary school is undergoing construction this year as a new gymnasium is being built. Due to unforeseen circumstances our playground has been blocked off. Therefore my kindergarten students have not been able to have recess on a playground.
I started doing yoga with my classes a few years ago. The students really enjoyed stretching and moving quietly unlike normal physical activity. There are multiple yoga programs for elementary students that are age-appropriate and entertaining as well.
The yoga mats arrived on a winter day. My class wondered what was in the large boxes. They were so happy when they saw the bright red child-size yoga mats! Each child immediately took off their shoes and grabbed a mat. The boys and girls were so excited not to be on the cold hard tile floor.
We practice yoga a few times a week thanks to you!! My students are able to relax, stretch and meditate on their own space.”

Operation Safe iPad
Funded Sep 27, 2019We live in a fast paced world that depends on technology to fuel our day. Long gone are the days of pencil and paper, dialing a rotary phone, looking at a calendar on the wall, and balancing our checkbook. Today, we use laptop computers, tablets, ipads, and cell phones to complete almost every daily task. Even at the young age of 5 and 6, my students are learning to use technology.
A very generous person in my community donated iPads to my classroom. This was very exciting!! However, I was not comfortable putting the device into the hands of a small child without a protective case. This is where I thank you for choosing our project out of the thousands to choose from. My class has thoroughly enjoyed using the iPads to practice writing numerals and letters on an awesome handwriting app, learning more about letter recognition and their sounds via the touchtronic manipulatives, and letting their creative juices flow via the Create Crayola tool kit.
Stand a little taller, take pride in your generosity, you have definitely made a difference in your donation to Operation Safe Ipad.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Nicholas Seymore
