Science in "Owl" Seasons
Funded Sep 5, 2023I truly appreciate your contribution to make this project a reality. My laptop is used from about 7am-4pm almost 5 days a week. From planning, to daily instruction, and the additional extended day hours- my MacBook puts in the WORK.
The ease in which an apple product functions- the capabilities to have multiple programs or even browser tabs open, the imbedded products from apple that allow me to create and share amazing videos and flyers with my students- it has yet to be matched by other devices. The BATTERY life is truly a life saver, as it keeps me from being attached to the wall and an outlet 24/7.
The students favorite thing about my returning to the use of Apple device for instruction is a Google Meet feature attached to the motion sensor in the camera, that utilizes special affects- a feature that only seems to be attached to Apple. One of my attached photos shows an example of that - something like balloons or confetti, may seem to silly and simple, but it truly boosts the mood of everyone in the room!!”

TECHnically Ready
Funded Sep 17, 2021This year I have a class of 18 students in the virtual environment. As a teacher in this virtual environment is has continued to be helpful to not have to worry about my device working or being compatible with programs/ websites needed to teach. I don't have to worry about slow moving technology and the addition of the router has made it so that I can run all my devices smoothly at once without losing any functionality. I often have two laptops and an iPad open at once and it is very helpful that the devices can seamlessly pick up activities/ presentations with little work on my part. (Thankful for Apple-Apple compatibility.)
I am excited to disperse the class headphones out at the next material/supply pickup. The district provided headphones for students at the beginning of the year, however at this time they have been lost, broken, or just worn and non-functioning. Students are excited to know that they are receiving a new pair of headphones that will help them hear to the best of their abilities and reduce disturbances that come from being at home for learning.”

Funded Sep 21, 2020The district I teach for is 100% virtual. Teachers are working from home, and most students are at home often with other siblings. The headphones provide a quiet environment for the kids to hear and help minimize background noise when they come off mute to speak.
The iPad drastically changed my ability to teach virtually. I have so many internet tabs and programs open at once on my laptop it is truly exhausting. The iPad provides the function of sharing resources from one device and allowing me to monitor the class on the laptop.
The iPad also provides the ability to be in two rooms at once, which is beneficial for assessing students 1-1 or for small groups. Students get excited when I tell them "I'm joining on the iPad, so you'll see me twice!" We appreciate your assistance with getting this technology to enhance our virtual learning experience.”

Funded Dec 2, 2019Class 13 was over the moon to be gifted flexible seating! Students loved learning about the different, appropriate ways to use the alternatives seats and they enjoy using them just as much. Reading, taking assessments, working with partners, and working hard on writing assignments are some of their favorite activities to do while using flexible seating at the teacher table. Thank you for providing my students with this opportunity that would not have been possible without your donations. Much love from the second grade wild things and their teacher.”
