The Dictionaries, pocket chart, and other material, will help my class because it ensures that everyone has the materials they need. More than 3/4 of students at my school come from low income households so I want to make sure every one has what they need to succeed. I've personally seen the instant change in a student's attitude when they realize they don't have to worry about being unprepared due to personal situations out of their control. My goal is to ensure an equitable classroom where everyone has the same chance to succeed. All students want to learn and if they feel like their basic needs are met, even when it's "just" supplies - they can do the unthinkable. It just takes someone taking the time out to show these kids they care.
