I would also like to have a classroom Scholastic Magazine subscription. The magazines will allow the students to stay up with age appropriate current events as well as offering them the opportunity to target specific classroom objectives. I would like to utilize the Scholastic Magazine subscription in various lesson plans as we try to target specific ELA and SS standards and objectives. Our magazines will help reinforce our classroom standards on a daily bases. I would like purchase the Scholastic News, Write, and Map skills subscriptions. Since we do not use textbooks in class I think that these 3 materials will help provide student's exposure to Narrative, Informative, and Persuasive reading. With these magazines we will also be able to study various inferences, themes, summarizing, and being able to better understand point of view. I am returning to the classroom after taking a 4 year teaching break to stay at home with my 3 young children. I am currently building a classroom and have been purchasing all items out of pocket. I have spent around 600 dollars out of our family budget to get the classroom up and running this year. I would greatly appreciate some help in obtaining the items listed, as I have already extended my means to help support student learning. Please help our 48 kids with your generous contribution.
