  • Good Work Does Not Go Unnoticed

    Funded Dec 26, 2023

Thank you for your generous donation in encouraging our students to always do their best work. My class was so happy and excited to see the packages delivered to our classroom. When I told them they had been donated they were very grateful that people whom they had never met were interested in their growing education.

I have noticed every time a student earns a reward they take it home to share with their family. Parents have shared how happy they are that students are sharing their work along with their rewards. After sharing with their families they bring it back and display their rewards in their pencil boxes.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Miramontes

  • Starting Our Flexible Seating

    Funded Jun 26, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations!!! When our students first saw the standing desks they were excited and curious how to use them in their learning journey. Many of our students have used this flexible seating option in class and it has been successful. We try to include brain breaks where our students can move around. Sitting down all day can be difficult, as you know a body in motion stays in motion. Providing this flexible seating has allowed the students to take control of their learning experience and options.”

  • Non-Fiction Reading

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

Asking students about current events has always been a difficult topic. Time Magazine for Kids has brought a whole new perspective for the students. They enjoy reading about children making changes in their community and learn about careers that they have never thought of. My students love technology and were extremely interested in the topics of drones and space travel. This led to discussions and writings that they wanted to continue all day. I saw students who were shy in sharing their opinions flourish in writing these wonderful topics. Getting these children engaged in learning is what I hoped these magazines would do and it is happening. Thank you for helping my students learn that knowledge is power and can also be fun.”

  • ELA Anchor Charts

    Funded Dec 23, 2021

Anchors charts are tools my students use daily. We make them as we are working through lessons, but I had realized they needed concrete anchor charts that wouldn't fade and were easy to read. My students have improved great in their writing because we use them regularly to guide us in our writing process. The large magnetic line white boards have been very helpful when showing students how to set up their paragraphs. Projectors require turning off lights, which can hinder some students vision. Students have mentioned how it is easier to follow direction when they see it in the lined magnetic white board because it matches their journals. Students have used it themselves to help guide their classmates. Thank you for these resources.”

  • Land and Air Models

    Funded Oct 19, 2021

We have been reading about the water cycle in our science text books, and learning about how different countries obtain their water in our ELA lessons. The students were ecstatic to put their knowledge into action. Using these water filter models students conducted research and used the engineering design process to make three different models with their group. They have learned so much about how something as simple as water has a huge impact on peoples lives. Thank you for making this tactile resource available to our class.”

  • Listening to Advance

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

Thank you for all the headphones donated to our classroom. The students were so excited to see the headphones unboxed, and to try them out. They are very durable and the students say they sound great.

I have multiple students with Independent Education Plans who need the accommodation of text to speech. I am happy to say these students have more confidence when sharing with their table groups. Also, my students who are English Learners have been working with an English program that reviews what we learn in class and prepares them for their ELPAC test at the end of the year. These new headphones have truly been a tool that has helped our students.

Thank you again for all your help.”

  • First-Year Teacher Providing School Supplies

    Funded Dec 15, 2019

Thank you for all the materials donated to our classroom. The students were excited to have new materials. Notebooks, folders, binders and scissors are items that we use daily in class.

Providing different colored folders has allowed our class stay organized, and they last much longer that paper folders. It was great to see the students not have to worry about they items falling apart. They can truly focus on their learning.

My students use multiple notebooks throughout the year. Math, science, social studies, art, writing, and reading. Having materials available for them as simple as notebooks is important.

Thank you again for all your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Miramontes

  • Whiteboards at Home

    Funded Aug 3, 2020

During this time of change our students have been doing their best to normalize distance learning. They have missed the classroom and all its familiarity. I thank you for the support you have shown my 4th/5th grade class. They have the tools they need to succeed even from home. They enjoy using their white boards daily for morning check ins, to solve math problems, draw diagrams and more. The students express how they enjoy using their whiteboards, and always want to implement them because they know that is the best way to show their work on Zoom. Our parents feel blessed to see their children learning from home with the tools that they need. I always speak to my students about how one kind act of kindness can change a persons life, and now they see it for themselves how your acts of kindness have helped them during this transition to learning from home.”
