Let's Read and Grow!
Funded Sep 16, 2020Thank you so much for the virtual learning supplies and multi cultural books for my students! We are so grateful them at you all have been so generous and helping us be able to create a better learning environment even though we are in a virtual setting now. The students will be so happy to read the books once we are back in the classroom. The other supplies will help us create a more classroom like feel through the computer screen by adding the extra engagement tools.”

Funded Nov 19, 2019I want to start off by saying thank you so much for donating to our classroom! I am a first-year EBD teacher and did not know what to expect as far as classroom decor, resources, and essentials for this population of students. Everything turned out to be amazing and it was all thanks to you guys for opening your hearts and wallets.
Because I asked for many educational materials I did not know exactly how I would incorporate them or how the students would respond, so I just went for it! I used the resources for small group activities and they love it. I got the social and emotional card box and we sit together at the kidney table while each student gets to pick a card and give a response as to how they would handle the situation and we as the teachers participate as well. The students really love when we answer the questions with them.
When the box first arrived they were so anxious to see what was in it and then when I pulled the materials out, they were eager to explore. Once they saw to sitting balls they couldn't wait for me to blow them up so they could sit and bounce on them. My goal for the classroom was to be as close to a general education classroom as possible without forgetting that this is a self-contained room and things will go flying with one temper flare-up; so I also wanted to keep things they could hurt the students to a minimum. Since we now have basically everything that we need as far as educational resources the next step is to just continue learning and growing together.”
