These items will comprise a foundation for workstations that are critical for group centered project based learning. Group instruction requires desks and pencils and paper. However, to effectively work in groups, students must have a place to go! Tables, whiteboards, and chalkboards are essential for rapid idea generation and the foundations of problem solving. Additionally, in a math classroom, what better way to hold up your questions for the teacher than to use a whiteboard or a chalkboard? With a little bit of Velcro, an idea wall can be made using small whiteboards with Velcro on the wall and the whiteboard. Chalkboards and some sidewalk chalk can be used for the middle school artist. The possibilities expand when groups have the materials they need!
