  • Techy 3's: Cooperation, Collab & Community

    Extremely honored to have been gifted this project for my English Language Learners. Using Wikki Stix and an iPad is a nice mix of hands-on learning and technology. No longer do I need to use my personal phone for pictures, Class Dojo and other fun Apple apps in assisting student technology objectives. The impact will definitely show at the commencement of the following school year. Looking forward to a fun, loving and successful school year.”

  • Flexible Seating, Flexible Learning

    As you can imagine from the start, the students were curious about what was inside the boxes. As I unpacked them, they then realized they were cool, wobbly stools! Smiles all around. They insisted on helping and reading directions on how to put them together. They also read the "danger" part and became aware that they could get hurt if they are not careful.

    We have been using the stools at the teacher-led instructional small group center during differentiated instruction/centers. Students are also given the opportunity to earn points and choose coupons- in this case, one of those coupons is the wobbly stool to sit on during class. I recall many moments of fun times learning together, watching them wobble around while at the same time keeping their focus!

    In the future, I would like to continue converting my classroom into a unique and flexible setting environment, where kids see the physical aspect of their classroom as a comfort zone embedded with learning. Also, learning how to treat our items with care, organizational skills and keeping a clean room. Thank you for your continued support.”

Educational apps will assist with literacy skills, reader's theater and the use of student portfolios via ClassDojo. In addition, it will also assist in creating an even greater feeling of mindfulness of oneself and of their peers. For example, when collaborating together in recording reader's theater, students learn how to include technology with educational values. Furthermore, students will be able to complete future projects, capture special learning moments in action, and understand that IPADS can be fun with educational purposes, rather than just games alone.
