The students benefiting the most are my at-home learner's, that I teach from my classroom. However, all my students would benefit in one way or another. I need these items to make this virtual learning world easier for both my students and myself. An additional camera and a scanner would make creating online assignments and instruction so much easier. It would also allow me to use material I already have and scan it into my new online platform. This will help to ensure better outcomes in the end. No matter the situation we are dealt with, my students deserve the very best education I can give them! Having the ability to get up and away from my computer camera to complete science experiments or work out on the board their math problems, I feel is necessary to help me teach the material. In science, I teach many skills that require the use of an actual experiment to help with the understanding of the standard, such as mixtures, physical and chemical changes, and electricity. My online students will not get the full effect of seeing these experiments without a camera other than the fixed one. For many of my students, hearing me talk to them about mixtures and solutions, what can cause the dissolving process to speed up or slow down, doesn't make the information stick. I need to physically show them how hot water will cause the sugar to dissolve faster or how I can separate pieces of the check mix to show that's it's a mixture as opposed to a solution like chocolate syrup and milk that can't be separated. Visual learners need to see this in action.
