Math is my passion! I have been teaching elementary math for over 8 years. Through research and teaching I have discovered that many elementary students lack the fundamental understanding of how to apply and understand the basic applications of math. With the tools that I am requesting they will give me the opportunity to create stronger math students by using hands on manipulatives rather than relying on technology to solve math problems. A majority of students in elementary schools spend too much time on technology rather than using hands on problem solving techniques to understand math. Many of my students are limited to real world experiences and hands on resources that would enhance their math-matical skills. Therefore I want to create a classroom that will encourage learning through mistakes using many hands on resources.
