Tea Time

We had our first tea party a few weeks ago. Five students were invited to participate. A beautiful invitation was presented to each child on the guest list. Our theme was fall and pumpkins. We decorated with fall colors, leaves, pumpkins and gourds. The children were served tea, fruit, turkey and cheese croissant sandwiches, apple bear claws and mini cupcakes.

The students received lessons on table manners, pushing in chairs, tea etiquette, napkins, asking for more of something and politely rejecting if they do not want something. Students also learned that they do not have to eat everything on their plate, just simply leave it politely. We talked a lot about grace and courtesy and gave lessons accordingly.

Our students had such a wonderful time. I have had positive feedback from both the students and parents following the tea party. Thank you so much for helping to create this once in a lifetime opportunity for my sweet students. The other 19 students cannot wait for their turn at a tea party this year!
