  • Learning History Through Graphic Novels

    Funded May 11, 2024

I'm so excited to have this excellent resource for my students to learn about Egyptian mythology and gods/goddesses. I appreciate the donors so much and my students will be very happy to have this graphic novel. Thank you for your generosity and helping to make a difference in my classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hawk

  • It's All About the Room!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

Thank you for your kind and generous donations. The impact on students has been tremendous.

I'd like to mention the beauty of the tropical looking plants, which tie into the civilizations we cover. We discuss the climates and it allows students to see plants of different regions visually.

The bulletin board paper is easy to write on and wipe off, so it's perfect for making a bulletin board for primary pictures and student work. I love that I can cover the walls and easily tape things up. It makes the classroom look nicer. I also used it to cover a bookshelf and to make a cover to hide supplies.

You may have noticed the blue paper on the window. I have students working on sketches and we will paint it to look like Ancient Egypt. I know it will look great! My students are so talented.

Thank you again for helping our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hawk

  • Where Did History Begin?

    Funded Dec 5, 2019

I can't even describe how much of an impact your kind and generous donations have made on my students.

I'll begin with the two world maps and the six inflatable globes. The impact of the globes and world maps have been that every student can have hands on experience with finding where the civilizations we have studied are on relation to the world today. Last week, I did a lesson on the expansion of The Roman Empire and they were able to circle and shade where it had spread.

Students were so engaged using the Sharpies to make informative posters. Everything you donated has added so much to my classes.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hawk

I'd like my classroom to have interesting visuals such as globes, maps and plants. I have one globe and students loved finding the area that we were studying and comparing ancient maps to the globe. Having more and different ones for students to look at will engage and help them. I also put in primary documents because these are hands on too, and students can reference the area. A large world map will help us keep track of where we've been. Colored Sharpies are a tool kids love for note taking and Expo Markers for anchoring their understanding through writing
