Help me create a student-centered classroom by providing an opportunity for students to work and learn where it bests suits them! Flexible Seating allows students to choose where they want to work. My students will appreciate and thrive in flexible seating while engaging in Daily 5 activities, and Math Daily 3 Activities! 21st Century learners need to be engaged and excited about learning. Flexible seating will help them achieve that! Whether students are on the floor reading to self, or to someone, or using a clipboard to complete writing and word work activities, they will have a choice on where to do that. During math, students can work on their concrete strategies using manipulatives either on the floor or at a table. They can work on math lessons sitting on the floor with a partner, or in a stool at a desk. This leads to students who are focused on their learning, and the teacher is less likely to have to deal with class behaviors. The most important aspect though is that they get to choose, and that puts them in charge of their learning! It's a win-win for both students and teacher!
