I am in my 3rd year of teaching science at Morrow Middle School, in which I have followed my students from 6th grade to 7th grade and now we are approaching the 8th grade. I have purchased many items using my own funds to help shape students minds through activities that were abstract but became physical once they were able to apply techniques using the fundamental objects I provided. By receiving school supplies, my classroom could be greatly influenced and positively impacted by continuing with hands on activities and project based learning that could enhance and shape their minds. My school prides its self on being 3D: Diverse, Determined and Distinguished. By receiving school supplies for my classroom I will be able to focus primarily on implementing assignments that are geared to help students develop and apply skills in a society that is forever evolving through technology, resulting in better jobs for those that are capable of being able to problem solve, research, and processing information using the fundamental skills of math, reading and writing. As students proceed in my class, I want to be able to provide a sufficient learning environment using appropriate tools to push student’s creativity, critical thinking, and planning through reasoning. By providing students with real world phenomena’s, I plan to grab student’s attention and gain a true effort in scientific studies. I want to offer students the opportunity to work independently and collaboratively to demonstrate their capabilities. In my science classroom I wish to push student thinking in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art and math. Overall, to achieve my schools primary goal, I want to make my students globally competitive while applying cross-cultural understandings.
