• Supplies for Us!

  I hope you are doing well. I am writing to express my gratitude for your generous contribution to our classroom through DonorsChoose. Thanks to your support, we have received essential resources such as Crayola Crayons, bulk headphones, Ticonderoga #2 pencils, and the Learning Resources Sight Word Swat game.

  The excitement was palpable when my students first saw the new materials! One memorable moment was when I introduced the Sight Word Swat game. As soon as I explained the rules, the students were enthusiastic and eager to start practicing their sight words in a fun and engaging way. It's now a classroom favorite, significantly boosting their motivation to learn new words.

  The new crayons and pencils, generously provided by you, have become integral to our daily activities. These seemingly simple tools have sparked creativity and enhanced their engagement during writing and art projects. The headphones, another gift from you, have been a game-changer, particularly during individualized learning sessions. They allow each student to focus on their own lessons without distraction, creating a more productive and immersive learning environment.

• Ready, Set, Second Grade Here We Come!

  Thank you for your generous contributions to our classroom. Your generosity is key to a successful school year. The kiddos were ecstatic to open the packages that were sent to help us start the year right.

  The laminating pouches have been a lifesaver when displaying student work and creating bulletin boards for student learning. Every resource that has been laminated will be used for the next school year. Laminating work helps avoid damage from water and moisture.

  Games are a great way to enhance learning. Playing games in the classroom increased overall motivation. Students became more motivated to learn, pay attention, and participate in class activities. The games have been a hit in class 204!”

• Ready for Instruction...Rug and Easel for Classroom learning!

  We are so grateful to have amazing people who care about our future leaders. We can't thank you enough for funding our project. This project has impacted our learning in so many ways.

  The rug has helped create a calm learning environment where students can focus with less distraction. It has been our favorite spot for morning meetings and independent reading.

  The easel has been a wonderful tool. The ability to move the easel around the classroom gives me more control over everything that's happening. I can facilitate small group instruction with ease.”

  Thank you for your generous contributions to our classroom. Your generosity was key to a successful rest of the year. The kiddos were stactic to open the packages that were sent to help us make it through the school year.

  The laminating machine has been a lifesaver when displaying student work and creating bulletin boards for student learning. Every resource that has been laminated will be used for the next school year. Laminating work helps avoid damage from water and moisture.

  The crayons and markers has helped student express themselves on paper in full color. It has given them control of their artwork and helping them blossom in unexpected ways. It has also helped them with their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

• Let's Get Ready To Decorate!

  Thank you for your generous contribution to our classroom. Your generosity was key to a successful beginning of the school year. The kiddos were static to open the packages that were sent to help us set our learning space. A classroom environment can affect student motivation. It is evident that more motivated students, put more effort into learning activities.

  Your contribution to our classroom made it possible to have LED lights that display what we are learning and their accomplishments in the classroom. The lights are one of the most fun aspects of the classroom. They also provide me with the opportunity to customize lighting to their needs.

  The Echo Dot has been a hit with the students. With the Echo Dot, they can set timers for a task and ask for facts about topics that are being learned in ELA and math.

• New Start New Year

  You did it again! Thank you for donating to our project. Having everything that you need while at school prepares students and gives them a sense of security that they otherwise may not have. With your donations, you have helped give students the basic supplies needed to start the new year. I'd like to inform you about how your donation has impacted my classroom. With the laminating pouches, I was able to laminate games for the students to play during math. Laminating the games will allow more students to use them in the upcoming years. The clipboards were perfect when students are working on an activity and they want to seat on a cushion. The pencils are used daily for different activities. I also have pencils available for students who might not have them at home. The dry-erase pockets are used in many ways. I use it to display student work on bulletin boards and for students to use it as a dry-erase board. It is very useful during our math and ELA lessons. Lastly, the wipes and Lysol have helped us keep our learning space clean and germ-free.

• New Year: New Supplies for Success

  I just wanted to thank you again for donating to my project! We use the materials and supplies you donated EVERY SINGLE DAY.

  The students could not believe that we had the project funded once again. The supplies donated have helped us so much. The printer has allowed us to print any resource or material needed for lessons. One of the activities the student enjoyed was writing a letter to Santa Claus. With the printer, we were able to print the letter templates. We used markers and colored pencils to make it more festive. We also used markers and colored pencils to create covers for our writing unit. Having these supplies has made the year easier for us.

  Our school is currently facing a budget shortfall, so without your help, we would not have been able to create these important materials. Without donors like you, classrooms would have to go without, and students would miss valuable learning opportunities.”

• Emotional Wellness Through Creativity!

  Thank you so much for making this project a reality for my students. When I saw my project was fully funded, I couldn't wait to tell my students. With this year's uncertainty, the Cricut was a great tool to ensure my classroom environment will make students feel comfortable and safe! I can provide them with projects that can safely create independent materials. Having the Cricut was so helpful to maximize their learning experience in the classroom.

  Since receiving the resources, we have created different projects. One of the projects the kids enjoyed making was personalizing their water bottles. Since the pandemic, keeping my students safe has been a priority. Having the students have their water bottles, we have minimized the number of times students need to get water. The water bottle has made it easy for students to keep themselves hydrated throughout the day.

  The next project we have in mind is creating personalized t-shirts with inspiring quotes. Everyone needs a little positivity, especially in the uncertainty of this year.”

• Beyond Distance Learning

  I have the privilege of teaching an extraordinary and diverse group of young scholars. They're incredibly resilient and have shaped the way I think about education and life. Our Title 1 school strives to give our students every opportunity for success that it can, but sometimes there are factors out of our control.

  The iPad allowed me to revolutionize the way I deliver direct instruction and interactive notes. Having a tool like an iPad Pro allowed me to prepare and easily access helpful materials from online resources, connect wirelessly to our classroom projector, and prepare engaging lessons for the students. With the iPad's Apple Pen feature, I can also annotate the screen as I deliver instruction, helping to clarify the information that I present. I can also take screenshots of my annotations that I can share with my students.”
