These materials will make it possible for me to launch a film studies class at our High School with state-of-the-art textbooks. The books I've selected blend readability with intellectual rigor, and are appropriate for use at both the high school and collegiate level. I'm asking the community to step up and get my students the books they need so that I can focus all of my energy on creating the kind of class they'll remember for the rest of their lives. I've designed a course that marries the rigor of a literature class with the kinds of social and emotional learning that come from courses in the arts. Now I need the resources to follow through on the promise I've made to my kids.
