All first graders have an interest to learn how to read. They love to go on adventures with the characters in their books as well as learn about new things. Since our class library is very limited in nonfiction books, this project will bring a wide variety of interests directly to the students. A unit in our reading curriculum focuses on nonfiction books and it is very difficult for the students to be successful with this when the books we currently have are so limited. I want to build on my class library so my students have a variety of books at their fingertips. I want to expose them to as many opportunities as possible and to learn about new topics through the books I have selected.
