  • A Whole New World!

    Funded Sep 6, 2023

I send you most sincere thanks on behalf of myself and my students. I am so excited to provide my students with special learning needs with an area where they can learn and collaborate together in comfort. I can imagine the excitement that will be on their faces when the materials arrive and are set up! I couldn't have done this without your help. I appreciate you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smith

  • Making Mathematicians!

    Funded Aug 29, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations to my project. I am humbled by your generosity. Math is and has been a difficult subject to teach to students with special learning needs. Also, my school is in the poorest congressional district in the country and we are often short of resources. These materials will allow my students to see and feel the concepts they are learning and will be a gamechanger in the classroom. I'm so excited to share them with my students and I know they will love them as well. Thanks again for all you do to support my teaching practices!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smith

  • Collaboration, Flexibility & Empowerment: Building Our Ideal Learning Environment

    Funded Aug 6, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous support! I can barely contain my excitement knowing how much the students are going to love having the chairs and magazine rack in the classroom. I can already see them moving through stations on the stools during math class or planning designs together on the bean bag during engineering labs or huddled together around the magazine rack discussing what they want to be when they grow up. I work hard to make our classroom a place that fuels their desire to learn and words can't express how much I appreciate that you're helping me do that. Again, thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smith

Since I teach two core courses to my 6th and 7th grade classes, they spend almost half of their day in my classroom. While they're there, they work individually, in pairs, and in groups. They solve problems, play academic games, read and analyze scientific texts, and perform experiments. In addition to their academics, students learn to be productive citizens. During their free time, they read books from the classroom library, explore college brochures, discuss current events, and watch news and movies. It is essential that the classroom environment allows my students the versatility to learn in ways that work best for them. The chairs will provide vibrant and flexible seating options as they move through various activities. The magazine rack will house brochures in our College and Career Corner, where students get inspiration for their futures. My students put in a lot of time in my classroom because they want to be the best people they can be. They live in the poorest Congressional district in the nation but lack of funds should not be the reason any child doesn't reach their full potential. Please help me provide an ideal learning environment for my students.
