Dear Donor,
Thank you in advance for for your support in ensuring my student's 4th grade year is filled with experiences that are engaging, interactive, and meaningful.
The items on this list will encourage my students to interact and take ownership in their own learning process. Hands-on learning through station and group work, combined with the creation process and presentations are key to bringing value and meaning to each lesson. Through teacher led small groups and independent stations, students will use these educational literacy and math games along with manipulatives (buzzers, thesaurus, dice, clipboards, dry erase boards, and paints) to practice and demonstrate mastery of the 4th grade standards.
I believe everyone, despite their age, can both be a teacher and a learner. As a result, my students are always encouraged to teach and lead others. The chart paper, construction paper, and cardstock will be used for student projects where students get to prepare presentations, projects, and lessons to their peers. As a result of "being a mini teacher, students will strengthen their understanding and new draw conclusions.
Leaders are readers and readers are leaders. My 4th grade classroom currently has 75 books in our library. I strive to provide a variety of levels and topics so that that there is a book out there for every student that will lead them to fall in love with reading. The books selected on this list are both educational and for pleasure so students will read, pick up on new vocabulary and practice making connections and inferences.
I so appreciate your support, thus helping me to ensure this a positive and memorable 4th experience where my students become leaders in learning!
Smiles,
Ms. Ward
