Do you remember as a child or maybe even as an adult reading a book that you were able to really connect with because you could relate to some obstacles that the character in the book were facing? This is exactly what is going to happen with "Long Way Down" & my 6th grade students. If you read the synopsis of the book, you will see how the obstacles William faces are barriers no child should endure. "Long Way Down" will provide my students with a reflection of how to react and not react when they come across tough obstacles in their life. The book will put into perspective consequences for actions that you make without thinking through them. I am asking for TIME For Kids, which will engage students in current events through a magazine. Students will be intrigued in these reading passages as they will be able to engage in student-led discussions.
