  • National Park Road Trip Research

    Funded Aug 27, 2024

This is a long overdue Thank you and I'm sorry. After being on medical leave, I was finally able to share these books with the students who will be using them. They are so excited to start the research project. They want to kow if I have more books like these. My teacher love that the books are various reading levels so all can enjoy and learn.

I could not have provide materials like these books without the help of strangers. Your donations allow us to give children the materials they need to learn, explore, and grow. It opens their eyes to how great people can be around the world. Thank you again”

  • Making Library Fun with STEM

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations. The students love using the new STEM materials and manipulatives. They were really excited to start building. The materials were perfect for all ages that I teach. I gave them the challenge of creating something related to our Christmas stories. Imagination and fun was all around. It was a welcomed change from our usual lessons.

I can not wait to use these materials again with our lessons. I really see an interest in the children to support of lessons. The library became a fun and active place.”

  • Making Library Fun with STEM

    Funded Nov 8, 2023

My students were super excited to see the materials and building blocks. They were surprised that strangers would help us have these materials. The students really enjoyed building and playing with the activities. They were so excited to show me what they made with some of the blocks. A couple students even used their library books as inspiration for their building.

I can not wait to start using the different activities in our lessons. I expect a lot more creativity will come through for the children. They are already asking to use them again.

Thank you again for your support.”

  • Need New Nonfiction Animals

    Funded Jul 25, 2023

Thank you so much for helping us get newer more interesting nonfiction books. With the combination of two school libraries, it has been a challenge to get books on the shelves and in the hands of students. When the library was ready, I shared the new books with the students. My students were so excited to see the books. They really like the who would win series, many saying they want to read that first. These books will definitely keep the interest of the students. The bright, big beautiful pictures caught the eye of some of my reluctant readers.

Nonfiction books are definitely a win.”

  • Reading Fun for Little Ones

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you so much for your support in my project. My students were thrilled to have new beginner readers. They so enjoyed looking at them and pointing out words they knew. These books have NOT stayed on my shelves- the students keep wanting to read them. One little girl announced with a big smile that she could read it all by herself.

I could not have provided these books for my K-2 nd graders without your help. It means alot to us. The students were amazed that strangers would help us get new books.

Thank you again for the support in bringing new beginner readers to my students.”

  • Craving Graphic Novels

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

After a year of not getting library books, my students were thrilled to be back in the library choosing books. They were even more thrilled to see the newest collection of graphic novels I received through Donor's Choose. I told them that thanks to wonderful strangers I was able to get them books they want to read.

After letting everyone have a chance to look over all the books, I have a long waiting list of students interested in these books. Having graphic novels is sparking an interest in reading again. I am so glad people have donated to my project and brought smiles to my students. Thank you so much.”

  • Digital Citizenship Through Books

    Funded Dec 21, 2020

Thank you so much for supporting this project. With technology use on the rise in classrooms, the need for digital citizenship lessons is increasing. With these books, I was able to create meaningful, thought provoking lessons.

The students loved hearing the stories. The books helped create some great conversations about being safe online, how to achieve media balance and why we need a "time out " from technology. The books really added to understanding certain concepts. The Technology Tail story was great for teaching about digital footprints. The Couch Potato story showed that while technology can be awesome sometimes NOT using it can be terrific too.

Quite a few children are asking to borrow the books so they can reread the stories. They enjoyed hearing the stories as sometimes we don't always get to just sit and listen to books.

I'm so happy that I was able to use these books in my teaching. Thank you again for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jordan

  • Windows into Diversity

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you for donating to my project " Windows Into Diversity". Being able to share these books with my students means a great deal. Through these books my students are able to recognize the many different cultures outside of our little area.

When I showed the books to my students and let them read them, quite a few of the students were so excited. One little boy was clearly fascinated by the spanish words in one of the stories. Another student was excited to tell me about his grandparents who celebrate the holiday mentioned in a book.

My plan is to work with teachers in incorporating these stories into their lessons. I already know one teacher who can't wait to use a couple of the books.

Thank you again for supporting reading and my school.”

  • Inspiring Biographies

    Funded Mar 2, 2020

Thank you so much for donating to help supply these biographies for my students. I was so excited to receive the books during our school closure. I couldn't wait to share them with my students. Now that school is back- though not as normal as last year- I was able to share the books with some students.

The children were excited to see new biographies about different people. A few told me they want to read a certain book right away. A book about a certain gymnast and one about the John Deere inventor were very popular. Interest was sparked when I showed them one about an artist from our state.

As the class works towards their " mini museum" project on biographies, I am sure these books will be popular to read.”

I love to connect my students with great books that can inspire and engage them. These biographies are fascinating and engaging stories of people who have changed the world. I want my students to think big as they follow their dreams just like the people in these biographies. Our school does a living wax museum of famous people. The students learn about inspirational and historical people and share their findings with the community. These biographies will help our older students research and prepare for the museum. Some of the books are picture book biographies for my younger students as well.
