  • Culinary Classroom Creations

    Funded Nov 21, 2024

I can't thank you enough for your extremely generous donations to our school. The cooking cart has about everything we could possible think of to teach our students safe and appropriate kitchen skills. We used supplies today to make cupcakes, brownies and cookies that students will sell in a bake sale for fundraising. We would like to eventually have students create a recipe book of microwave friendly and no bake recipes they can practice with their families at home. We can't thank you enough for your kindness and love!”

    With gratitude,

  • Cricut Card Making Enterprise

    Funded Sep 3, 2023

The students and I cannot thank you enough for your generosity. We are blown away that so many people have given to this project and given us such an amazing opportunity. The card making internship is just getting off the ground to such amazing success! We are learning how to use the new machine and card mats to create custom thank you notes to all our wonderful friends who gave their money to this project. This gift will impact our students in so many positive ways that words could never justify. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

  • Bolster for Improved Function!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Our students are using the bolster to strengthen their whole bodies. We use it daily for exercise and to engage our students in a variety of challenging activities. One of our favorite activities to use the bolster is for reaching while seated to cross midline and knocking it down and picking it back up like Ninja Warrior. It has given our students the opportunity to use world class therapy equipment. We can't thank you enough for your kindness and generosity. My apologies for the delay in sending this thank you note!”

    With gratitude,

  • Visual Supports and Activities for Classroom and Community Skills

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Words could never express how grateful I am to be the benefactor of such a generous donation for my students. Yesterday I used $400 dollars to purchase materials from Teachers Pay Teachers that will benefit our students for years to come. I selected visuals, activities and lessons that focused on improving life skills, vocational skills, money management, stress management, executive functioning and community skills. I plan to use the remainder soon on materials for yoga and self regulation resources. This gift will benefit so many students and will impact their lives positively in so many ways. Thank you again for your generosity and thoughtfulness. Happy holidays!”

  • Creative Expressions for Vocational and Life Skills

    Funded Jan 12, 2022

I can't put into words how your donations have impacted our school. The Cricut maker is amazing! The students are learning how to fill orders from their fellow classmates and how to make corsages and boutonnieres for their prom. We are hoping next to teach them how to make decals for water bottles. There are a million opportunities for them to enhance both their vocational and leisure skills as a result. Additional, the karaoke machine is a huge hit! We are using it during therapy sessions to work on improving a variety of social skills and improve engagement. The students also get an opportunity to use it during class recreation time, which has been extremely positive. We will continue to use both the Cricut and karaoke machines for years to come!”

  • Sensory Spa at School!

    Funded Dec 7, 2019

I can't begin to tell you how much of an impact your generosity has impacted every single student I service for occupational therapy. The ball pit and crash pad are such a huge hit!! I have many students who go in to the therapy room and come out more focused, relaxed and engaged. The new equipment is used everyday by every student I work with. The air-ex cushions help the students stand taller while they're working to complete vocational tasks, which is helping their balance and core strength. The light projector helps the students to relax and calm their bodies so they can learn to the best of their abilities. Your generosity has benefited and touched the lives of so many children who truly need it. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, thank you!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Nash

Occupational therapists help individuals to participate in daily activities in school, at home, and in the community. Teens with an autism face unique daily challenges due to difficulties with social communication and sensory processing. Students who receive occupational therapy (OT) in my high school, typically have goals designed to enhance their ability to engage with peers in multi-step tasks that can translate into improved skills for academic and community based function, including those necessary for employment. My goal is to make the OT interventions and sessions fun, engaging, purposeful and appropriate for the students needs.
