As we are a technology school, everything is now done on the iPADS. When I work in small groups one station is on the iPADS, going on Lexia and Amplify which provides high quality instruction for every student based on their individual level. Aside from that every week they take a weekly test on the iPAD, I read it with the students as a whole and then they go back to their seats to complete their assessments. The assessment has the option of reading the questions and choices for the students as many times as they'd like. However, because we do not have any headphones it is very difficult for my students to focus when all iPADS are reading different questions at the same time. My 1st graders are still in the process of learning how to read, so having the audio is still necessary at this age. By providing headphones to my students it will eliminate any distractions, enhance their learning so much more which in turn will set them up for success.
