I am entering my 20th year of teaching, but much of my experience has been in upper elementary and I do not have the items necessary to provide the Morning Learning Tubs for my students who need this avenue to be actively engaged in learning. I am requesting Morning Learning Tubs to help students make connections to letters of the alphabet, to make connections to sight words and cvc words, and to build fine motor skills for writing. To build these tubs, I will need the plastic containers and the various items from letter cubes and letter dominoes to letter beads and pipe cleaners to build these tubs. Letter recognition, letter sound development, and sight word recognition are all fundamental to developing strong readers and Morning Learning Tubs are an important way to engage students in actively learning these skills.
