High crime, low income, low success rates, low test scores, classmates killed in the streets... this is the norm for my kids. If providing them supplies in the classroom helps alleviate even a little stress for them, it's worth every penny. Some don't have parents or a home, so why would I expect them to have pencils and binders? I would buy it all myself if I could. I would bring them all home and give them a family that loves them if I could. But for now I'll work on a safe, comfortable environment for learning!
