  • Reading Is the Foundation of Life

    Crete Academy students are so very thankful for your donations towards helping us continue to improve and increase our reading.

    Our students were so excited to see the new books and they all jumped right in and started reading. We have been focusing on improving our reading skills in all grades and students become very excited when they move from one reading level to the next.

    I hope you know how much your donation towards these books mean to our students - your donation is more than just receiving a book, our students are learning life lessons on the goodness of people in our world. This is one thing we can repeat to them over and over, however, when they see goodness in action it will stick with them forever.

We are encouraging our students to eat better, get enough sleep and Move It, Move It, Move It. I can't wait to see our students faces when they play soccer during recess and PE with their new supplies.”

We encourage our students to look at reading like going on an adventure, to get into the character of the book and experience what is being told in the story. Our students create Wishlist of books from the Scholastic Book Fair. They choose books they are interested in and I believe our students will read these books. Please help us by donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
