Students will engage in art projects that expand their understanding of invertebrates, as this is the year of the invertebrate for my first graders. After learning facts, comparing and contrasting each invertebrate, exploring the outdoor core trail, students will demonstrate what they have learned by using the writing process to create a informative paragraph about an invertebrate. Students will learn how to draw invertebrates. Then, my students will use watercolor and oil pastel to put their own artistic touch on the project. Students colorful projects will be displayed proudly on a bulletin board for all to enjoy. Please help me to make it happen!
